Mock Meet

Results of the meet have been posted.  Please do not worry if your child was DQ'd last night, we judged very tough last night so we could know what to work on this week before our first real meet at Deveraux.   I would like to again encourage you to help the coaches and kid pushers by making sure your child stays in the bullpen area.   We had some kids last year miss their events because they were playing somewhere.   We can't go searching for all 187 kids at a meet, so we need your help.   I would like to thank all the volunteers last night.   We were able to get times on everyone which will help the coaching staff going forward.

Practice this week

We will focus the next two nights on our two hardest strokes.   Tonight and Thursday morning we will be focusing on Butterfly for the older kids, freestyle for the 6 & under.   Thursday night and Friday morning we will be focusing on Breaststroke and Saturday we will be working on Dives, Turns, relays and backstroke.  Monday will also focus on dives and stroke technique as we get ready for the meet.

Meet next week at Deveraux

Our next meet on Tuesday 6/12 will be at Deveraux.   The pool address is 500 Wakehurst Drive, Cary, NC 27519.  Sign up for the meet will close at 5:00 p.m. Saturday.   Please sign up before the deadline so coaches can seed the meet.  We will have relays, so please consider if you want your child in a relay.   The medley relay (each swimmer swims one of the four strokes) is at the start of the meet (6 p.m.).  Don't sign up for the medley relay if you will be late.  The Freestyle relay is at the end of the meet, if you don't want to keep your child out late, do not sign up for the freestyle relay.   If you sign your child up, but they for some reason cannot swim in a relay, please notify Coach Mark.   If your child is in a relay and you leave without telling Coach Mark, three other kids don't get to swim.   If you tell me, I can find a replacement.   Coaches will determine relays, while we try to full fill every request,  sometimes there is not enough slots to have everyone swim on a relay.
